Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
The Jolly Web Review Generator ("the Service") is operated by Jolly Web Consulting ("Jolly Web", "we", "us"), a sole proprietorship based in the United States. The Service is available at review-generator.jollyweb.co.
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email us at [email protected].
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you sign up for a paid review page, we collect your business name, business website URL, your email address, and the public review URLs you choose to link (Google, Facebook, Yelp, Nextdoor). When you contact us for support, we keep your message and email address.
Information collected automatically. When you use the Service we receive standard request data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, and pages viewed. We use this for security, abuse prevention, and to diagnose problems.
Information from your website. The free demo and the paid review page scan publicly available content from the business website you submit. We store a snapshot of that content (visible text, tagline, basic metadata) so that we can regenerate reviews without re-fetching the site on every visit.
Payment information. Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number, expiration date, or CVC. Stripe sends us a customer identifier, subscription status, the last four digits of the card for receipts, and billing email.
3. How we use information
- To provide the Service, including generating reviews from your website content.
- To create, maintain, and bill your subscription.
- To send you transactional email about your account, billing, or the Service.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information to train machine learning models, and we do not sell your personal information.
4. Service providers we share data with
We use a small number of third-party providers to operate the Service. Each receives only the data needed to perform its function:
- Stripe, Inc. — payment processing, subscription management, billing portal. See stripe.com/privacy.
- Anthropic, PBC — generates review text from the public content of your business website. Inputs are not used to train Anthropic models. See anthropic.com/privacy.
- Hetzner Online GmbH — hosting provider where the Service and its database are stored. See hetzner.com/legal/privacy-policy.
We may share information when required by law, in response to a valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Jolly Web, our users, or the public.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use the minimum cookies needed to make the Service work: a session cookie for logged-in management pages and a preference cookie for your language and theme selection. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers on the Service.
6. Data retention
We retain your account information and business data for as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel your subscription, we keep your account record and the website snapshot for up to 90 days so you can reactivate without re-entering everything, after which it is deleted from our active database. Backups containing the deleted data are rotated and overwritten within 60 days of deletion.
Stripe retains billing records as required by financial regulations. Generated review text is not personal information and may be retained indefinitely in aggregate form.
7. Your rights
You can request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or ask us to delete your data, by emailing [email protected]. We respond within 30 days. Deleting your data will end your subscription.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and CCPA respectively. The rights above cover the substance of those rights; if you want to exercise a specific statutory right, mention it in your email and we will handle it accordingly.
8. Security
We host the Service on a single locked-down Linux server with full-disk encryption, restrict access to a single administrator account, and transmit all traffic over TLS. Stripe handles all card data on PCI-compliant infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and review our configuration regularly.
9. Children
The Service is intended for business owners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with information, email us and we will delete it.
10. International users
The Service is operated from the United States and hosted in the European Union (Hetzner, Germany). By using the Service you understand that your information may be transferred to, and processed in, those locations.
11. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and email active subscribers at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
